The world road toll is huge

The WHO says that something like 1.2m people are killed on roads around the world each year. Over 1000 young people are killed on the roads every day. 20-50m people are also injured on the roads each year. Yet people always say to me, "There are too many dangerous sharks in the water for me. Aren't you scared that you might get killed by one?" My reply is often something like, "Do you drive to work?"
